My creative side has been feeling a bit neglected lately… working as a project manager is more about dealing than doing, and I was missing playing around with brushes, colors, textures and shapes. So when yesterday, by following a little blue bird, I stumbled upon some very good photoshop tutorials, my creative side got all excited.
The result is this vintage travel diary of my trip in New Zealand:

A few weeks ago, with my friend Andrea we came across a very entertaining and informative presentation about “design delighters and Easter eggs, about hiding clever little gems in websites which people will find, enjoy, and share with their friends.” In this talk entitled Oooh, that’s Clever! (Unnatural Experiments in Web Design) Paul Annett, lead designer at Clearleft, presents several examples of websites that include small features or effects that are totally useless from a functional point of view but are intended to make the website (and therefore the user’s experience) more delightful and fun. Simple tricks, often well hidden and unexpected, that when discovered literally will make you say “Oooh, that’s cool!!”. The idea is to add to your website that little something that will impress the users and will most likely make them send your URL to their friends, creating “an intangible viral marketing effect which will help engage your audience and build hype around your product or service”.
Andrea has just posted an article about this on CSSglance, listing the most entertaining and clever examples presented by Paul Annett in his presentation, so I decided to be lazy and just link to it! ;-p
Just to make your mouth water… check this out!
